The UBFC Doctoral College implements a unique cross-cutting training course offer designed for all PhD students in the Bourgogne Franche-Comté region throughout their doctoral course.
This interdisciplinary training course offer will allow PhD students to acquire knowledge and skills supplemental to those acquired through their research, and to acquire a broad scientific culture to back up their further career.
The UBFC cross-cutting training course catalogue is organised around 9 themes:
- Furthering your career
- Teaching knowledge and tools
- Management and entrepreneuring
- Ethics of research and scientific integrity
- International scientific culture and valorisation
- Documentary training courses
- Computer science and scientific modelling
Each doctoral school defines a mandatory number of hours to be spent attending training courses.
All the PhD students UBFC will have to follow at least 9 hours of training course in the “Ethics of the search” category during the duration of their doctorate.
Each UBFC PhD student is allowed up to 7 cross-cutting training courses per academic year. Beyond this number, he/she will be entitled to attend specific training courses offered by his/her doctoral school.
All Doctoral College training courses are free of charge.
Every PhD student enrolled in training undertakes to complete this training in its entirety.
We tolerate 20% absence of the total duration of the training, beyond which the training is not validated.
Any unjustified absence will be reported to the doctoral school.
