Environments and Health (EH), n° 554

EH (ES) doctoral school gathers 23 research units (11 at the université de Bourgogne, and 9 at the université de Franche-Comté). A first group of laboratories shares the thread of environmental studies (in a broad sense), and a second group of laboratories gathers stakeholders implied in health research. Environmental sciences include global ecology, evolution, geology, climatology, behavioural sciences, agro-ecology, and food sciences, while health sciences include all the fields related to human health and nutrition.

Carnot-Pasteur (CP) doctoral school, n° 553

Carnot-Pasteur DS is a multidisciplinary school that covers the fields of mathematics, physics, chemistry, and the sciences of the universe. It gathers all the research units working in these fields in Bourgogne and Franche-Comté. Six CNRS mixed research units (MRUs) belong to this DS: the Institute of Molecular chemistry of the University of Burgundy (Institut de Chimie Moléculaire de l’Université de Bourgogne, ICMUB), the Carnot Interdisciplinary Laboratory of Burgundy (Laboratoire Interdisciplinaire Carnot de Bourgogne, ICB), the Institute of Mathematics of Burgundy (Institut de Mathématiques de Bourgogne, IMB), the Laboratory of Mathematics of Besançon (Laboratoire de Mathématiques de Besançon, LMB), the “Transport World, Interfaces, Nanostructures, Atmosphere and Environment, Molecules” Institute (Institut Univers Transports, Interfaces, Nanostructures, Atmosphère et Environnement, Molécules, UTINAM), the Physical Chemistry and Radiation team of the Chrono-Environment Laboratory, as well as the CEA unit in Valduc.

 Engineering Sciences and Microtechniques (Sciences Pour l’Ingénieur et Microtechniques, SPIM) doctoral school, n° 37

This DS focuses its research on the fields of optical and electronic systems, mechanical and energy economics systems, materials, automation, automated production, computer science, and time-frequency. Special emphasis is laid on cutting-edge microtechniques such as novel materials, composite and fiber-reinforced structures, sensors and actuators, clever structures, optoelectronics and optics; microscopy; micro-robotics.

Law, Management, Economic and Political Sciences (LMEPS) doctoral school, n° 593

LMEPS (DGEP) doctoral school was officially created on 1 January 2017. This new doctoral school coordinates the doctoral training courses of all the PhD students in the fields of law, management, economy, and political sciences, and follows them up. The CREDESPO, CREDIMI, CREGO, CESAER, and LEDI research units of the Université de Bourgogne, and the CRESE and CRJFC research units of the Université de Franche-Comté belong to this doctoral school. The LMEPS DS hosted 230 PhD students in 2016-2017.

Literature, Communication, Languages, Arts (LCLA) doctoral school, n° 592

LCLA (LECLA) doctoral school was officially born on 1 January 2017. It gathers all the PhD students from Bourgogne Franche-Comté that do a thesis in the fields of French and French-speaking, classical and modern literatures, foreign languages and literatures, theater arts, and the sciences of language, information, and communication. It gathers the TIL, CPTC, CIMEOS research units of the Université de Bourgogne, and the ELLIADD and CRIT research units of the Université de Franche-Comté. In 2016-2017, it hosted more than 200 students registered in PhD thesis supervised by more than 80 professors and HDR lecturers-researchers.

Societies, Spaces, Practices, Time (SSPT) doctoral school, n° 594

SSPT (SEPT) doctoral school gathers all the research units that deal with social and human sciences at the Université Bourgogne Franche-Comté, i.e. archeology, history, geography, psychology, sociology and anthropology, philosophy and epistemology, educational sciences, sport sciences. They represent around 50% of the PhD students, potential thesis supervisors, and research units of the HSS (SHS) federation of doctoral schools.
